Temple

The Pleasure Report imagines tools for counter prospecting instead of extraction. Building on New Mineral Collective's practice of developing procedures that mine through the body, artist Temple will lead a SESSION that considers how bodies move to meet structures. Set to the repetitive pulse of Kylie Minogue's Slow, this event will explore the physical ways we adopt and become objects, containers, and constructs—stretching beyond and yielding to the limits of form. With no set choreography or instruction, participants are invited to question their own rhythms, pressing into walls, folding over surfaces, and finding tension and release in relation to the exhibition's built environment. Like language and property, these human-made structures define boundaries—edges that shape and contain us, yet remain open to being tested. Within the never-ending loop of Slow, we feel the pressure of our skin against surface, the trace of contours, the tension of a stretch held just long enough to dissolve.

Information

Temple is a space and a person; an alter ego, a gallery, a gym. Temple is both a framework and what pushes against it.

About the Series

SESSION is a project modelling itself after an incubator that invites cultural practitioners to engage with questions that emerge out of a given exhibition.
